The
Massachusetts State Police
They "Own"
Route 1 Approaching The Gillette Stadium...
There
They Affect Choreographed Traffic Precision.
Yet,
They Surrender Route 495 from 95 South To Route 140...
There
Their Absence Affects Traffic Chaos.
Route
1, Foxborough, MA, Patriots' Game Day: The wo/men in the French Blue of the Massachusetts State Police flock....
The Harleys. The Horses. The Hardboots. The Helicopter. The Hoard of Trooper Cars.
The High 'n Mighty (literally) State Police Nerve Center atop the Stadium. Taken together, the "Stateies"
dominate the stretch of Route 1 from as far north as Bickfords on Route One in Sharon MA to past the Stadium to
at least their barracks, approximately 2.5 miles south of the Statium.
And
make no mistake... They control the road... Not the Foxborough Police, or any other authority. Mess with that traffic
flow... and you're messing with the State Police. Period.
They
do a great job... emptying the stadium and the lots in less than two hours! It's been a refining process developed over
the years... from the control of lights, cones in the road, and major road construction.
BUT,
WHERE ARE THEY FOR TRAFFIC ON RTE 495 SOUTH HEADING TOWARD THE CENTER?
WHAT
A MESS! WHAT DELAYS. AND WHAT PRESSURE ON ACCUMULATING BLADDERS....
CAUSING
SOME PEOPLE RELIEVE THIS PRESSURE ALONG ROUTE 495.
OTHER
MORE MODEST PEOPLE WAIT TO GET TO THE TWEETER PARKING LOTS...
ONLY TO FIND THAT NEEDED RELIEF IS THWARTED BY EITHER LONG LINES,
OR
PORT-A-JOHNS WHICH ARE JUST TOO FAR AWAY TO CAKEWALK TO.
The Tweeter Center Highway Access
Needs Troopers, Too!
