THE SHOW: The goal
is to make original recording of
selected pop songs come "alive" through accompaniment
and the participation of the audience.
THE PARTY AUDIENCE: The Show is geared for a club, lounge,
or a private party crowd -- usually mixed
by gender and age --
but united by a desire to
have fun! Despite all the different
types of music, there are very few different
beats. For example,
just about every nationality has an uptempo
2-step beat and
dance... from the ubiquitous polka to the
Texas 2-Step, itself.
HiHAT hooks into the common time elements
and "crosses-over"
the music to entertain the crowd in the way
that they wish to
interpret it.
THE BUSINESS AUDIENCE: Go anywhere in American business,
government, or any campaign, and "sooner
than later," someone
in a meeting will mention "orchestrating"
events to coordinate a
crescendo-ing success! With 7 simple
notes, scaling about three
octives, modified by sharps or flats, and
modulated onto no more
than a handful of tempos at varying
beats, music is the metaphor
for building team success.
And, The JOHNNY HiHAT Show is the
"instrument" that plays-out this metaphor.
With custom content
development, The JOHNNY HiHAT can create the tempo
for your next corporate meeting's success.
HOW THE SHOW WORKS:
Johnny normally spins for 4 hours
straight, of which the show is 1 hour which
can be run straight,
or be broken into 15 minute segments each
hour. Either way,
there is no loss or break in the entertainment.
THE MUSIC: The Show is produced
in style modules with a
a menu of modules from which the audience
may choose. With
Cymbals, Congos, Bongos, and an assortment
of other rhythm
instruments, HiHAT makes this music "live"
by introducing, playing,
and most of all involving the crowd. Also,
as there is no massive
drum set, HiHAT is able to stand in front
of the audience... like
most other musician... and interact with the
people.
THE CROWD: The Show
seeks people to play rhythms as a
chorus back-up to the leads who are obviously
the recording
artists, themselves. What happens next
is undertermined until it
happens! For example, Paul Simon's "Graceland."
It's a favorite...
With this song the goal is to find people
that can clap to the
off-beat 3 and four, find others that mimic
the congo rhythm...
and have all the rest sing as chorus to this
electric event.
From individually simple rhythms evolves the
same complex
rhythm of the song. Even non-toetappers,
tap to this tune!
THE CYMBALS: JOHNNY HiHAT
and his sizzling Status
Cymbals (tm) started The Show with with just
cymbals. In
music the cymbals are used to produce
the rhythm of the tune,
and the bass drum the beat. THE HiHAT CYMBAL, however,
is capabable of producing both rhythm
and beat -- or off-beat --
without the loud thumping of the bass drum
and the banging of
the drums. And, as the "brightest"
rhythm section, the vibrations
of the hihat and other cymbals are the sounds
that carry above
all else.
THE TRAPS & TRAPPINGS:
The JOHNNY HiHAT Show
provides all the music, cymbals, traps,
tamborines, costumes,
props, and of course, hats. Overtime,
The Show has added
latin perscussion congo and bongo drums to
accommondate
people's ability to hand tap better than
controlling drum sticks.
