Well, I've evaluated several alternatives for electronic newsletter publishing... and in the final analysis, have returned to my initial decision... emails with a link to the site. This format provides an economical way for creating a unique style for each report plus an efficient method for updating the information... all while locking words and images to prevent tampering which could lead to misquotes.
Often with film, video, and live coverage systems, the event... or points to be made... get lost in the "sound bite." Venues and Events isn't about "bites," but "chews" -- often long, reflective chews. For these characteristics, TEXT AND STILL PHOTOS PROVIDE THE PERFECT MEDIUM.
Perhaps some people will appreciate the public commentary sites... others will become defensive or uncomfortable... still others may get irrate. However, it's import for all to remember: V&E calls them as we see them. And, if we PLUS other "regular" people with whom we talk see them as being one way, the chances are excellent that they are that way, despite any nuanced thinking, ordinances, or codes which "justify" a targeted observation.
Regardless of your reaction, if you have critical constructive thoughts, please send them along. If they are appropriate to the topic and are added, you will receive attribution.
