CONTINGIENT FEES

	My Craft Is Music Not Moving... Nor Spinning Wheels    Possible Contingient Fees Usually, There Are None   SEE FEES AT BOTTOM   Here's The Deal... My average 4 hour gig requires a minimum of 8 hours between the actual event, set up & travel.    This excludes booking calls and contracting.  Corporations and Weddings require more. Soon after 9 hours, we approach Contingient Fees to be added to my published rates. They relate to additional time, venue and expenses.   My base venue is the function facility where I pull up to the door... not having to worry about parking or theft...  roll my equipment into the facility on the same floor or a few steps.  My fees reflect this load or one that is similar.  As the venue differs from the above, more time, effort and perhaps even a "roadie" are required. Rather than "build-in" the price for everyone, I prefer to charge only where it is appropriate.   Contingient Fees are separate from Custom Event Fees which pertain to program content. THERE IS AN IDEAL GIG!  It is the one which is held at a function hall that has a convenient drive-up, there are no stairs, and the function is on the same level.   Then, there are nightmare gigs:   They look something like Dante's 7th Level of Hell where access is from a loading dock, up a freight elevator, which is shuttling the banquet food, always in contention, and constantly has its door held open while workers unload (or worse hold for their own use again).  Oh, did I forget?... The function room is not ready, I can't get in, I'm a sweating mess and my clothes have butter or whipped cream on them from the elevator.  I wish these loads were fiction... but they are not!   Well, "That's Show Biz":  Indeed it may be... but it's not at the rates that I've set forth... and the style and fashion of my entertainment.  I'm not an elitest... just a realist.   Here's the deal:  I come dressed for the gig.  That's usually in a clean, pressed tuxedo or white dinner jacket, white shirt, studs, the works.  I show up at a function with the expectation that I could meet you, or your guest at any time... as the person that your hired... not a guy drenched in sweat, or one fighting to get a dress shirt over his shoulder without talc which would surely look "dorkish" on the black tux.   So, I have surcharges:  In truth, they are all economically based on direct expenses and time. They are not meant to generate revenue. Besides, there's just no psychological compensation for the nightmare load described above... just a little satisfaction that economically, I don't get smeared like the butter and whipped cream in the freight elevator! I wish that nightmare loads were not true... But they are! ONLY      MAY BE WAIVED BY SCHEDULE.      $250.00 Add-on... However, there will be any overtime charge for extended hours.   [  ] Off Prime Hours -- Event in cities/metro areas which commences      before 10:00 AM Monday - Friday which are subject to commuting problems, or      after 10:00 PM Friday-Saturdays in downtown areas where parking is taken.      $100.00 Add-on   [  ] Event which requires extraordinary equipment / favors which I am to acquire.      Actual merchandise amount prepaid, plus sourcing fee of $50.00/hour, payable at event.     POSSIBLE VENUE CONTINGIENT FEES Based on locations.      [  ] Venue which requires city/hotel garage parking, valets, etc.      $50.00 - $100.00   [  ] Venue with distant open parking lots without a drive-up facility.      $25.00 - $50.00    [  ] Above/below one grade venues without passenger elevators,      or with difficult access to elevators, "kitchen loads," or ramps.      Must Be Determined By Inspection or Call   [  ] Venue which requires an assistant for security in un/loading & event coverage        $150.00   [  ] Venue in extremely wet areas or on docks with condensation      requiring special repacking and drying.      $50.00   [  ] Venue requiring the use of union help to enter/ leave venue,      set-up, plug-in, breakdown, tips. (Trade Shows, Conventions, etc.)      Unknown... Must be determined.   [  ] Venue exceeding mileage, plus toll and /or other transportation      $.50/mile beyond limit, plus toll reimbursement      Actual charges for other transportation... special shipping charge may apply.   [  ] Venue which requires shipment of equipment or merchandise      Actual amount prepaid, plus handling fee based on $50.00/hour, payable at event.   [  ] Island Venues of Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard, Block Island      Priced separately and individually based on season and other factors.      OTHER MATTERS No "rock star" perks... just considerations.   [  ] Public Performance...      Food & Non -alcoholic Beverage hospitality for 1 Assistant, if one is brought.      Guest List Access for up to 4 Guests with a prime table to accommodate.      (Guest will pay their tab.)    [  ] Private Performance...      Food & Non-alcoholic Beverage hospitality for 1 Assistant, if one is brought.      Don't burden yourself with feeding me... I'm there to entertain!   [  ] Late Hours... (If not compensated by Overtime Hours)      Room for performance ending past 2 AM and that is 65 mi from Sharon, MA.      Or for performance 150 miles from Sharon, MA that ends past midnight.            Optionally, in lieu of accommodations...      $95 Add-on per night for a mid-range motel... Red Roof / Days Inn / Etc.
